A. Clean connector by MTP cleaner
- Before you clean the MTP connector, please inspect it first, if it is clean, no need to clean it.
- Insert the the MTP Cleaner into the adaptor where the connector is mated
- Rotate the tape feeder wheel as indicated on the cleaner
- Inspect the connector with 200 x microscope
- If there is still contaminated repeat steps once more.
B. Clean the connector by OAM-MTP cleaner
- Before you clean the MTP connector, please inspect it first, if it is clean, no need to clean it.
- If it is contaminated, use OAM-MTP cleaner to clean the female MTP connector.
- Remove the connector dust cap
- Use the cleaning stick and fluid to remove any debris from the pin holes
- Open the OAM-MTP cleaner to disclose the cleaning cloth, wipe the ferrule on the cloth
- Close the cover of the OAM-MTP Cleaner
- Inspect the MTP connector by a microscope, if contamination inspected, please repeat step 4 to step 6.
Note: Avoid the MTP connector touch any hard article to damage the fiber.
- If the MTP Connector is still contaminated, use a wet cleaning method.
- Apply an approved cleaning fluid to a small area of lint-free cleaning cloth
- Wipe the MTP connector over the damp area
- Wipe the connector over a dry area of the cloth and allow it to dry
- Re-inspect the ferrule with a 200 x microscope
- Wipe the MTP connector over the damp area
- Wipe the connector over a dry area of the cloth and allow it to dry
- Re-inspect the ferrule with a 200 x microscope
